R&J Public Relations Named Agency of Record for Zero Surge, Inc.

Bridgewater, NJ (February 2006) -- Zero Surge Inc., a leading manufacturer of non-degrading power quality filters for a variety of industries and applications has named R&J Public Relations, LLC its public relations agency of record.

“We manufacture a series of products that are technologically complex and completely different from anything else on the market,” said Rudy Harford, Chief Engineer of Zero Surge. “As such, we need to educate the marketplace about what makes our products different and more effective than the competition. R&J demonstrated a clear understanding of our products and the environment in which we operate. I am confident that they will help us increase awareness and understanding of our products in the marketplace and subsequently increase our presence in key vertical markets.”

For over 16 years, Zero Surge’s revolutionary patented products have been providing unequalled, unfailing powerline surge protection for a number of industries. Unlike the traditional products that shunt excess surge energy to the “ground” wire and utilize tiny, inexpensive metal oxide varistors (MOVs) to divert surge current, Zero Surge’s power quality filters perform as a tranquilizer on the surge current and absorb even the most destructive strikes, dissipating them harmlessly over the neutral wire, repeatedly. MOV-based surge suppressors have a history of overheating and causing fires. When hit with powerful surges, MOVs have been known to explode, and they deteriorate with use, completely losing their effectiveness with no outward sign of the degradation.

Zero Surge Inc. manufactures non-degrading power quality filters, certified by UL for safety, endurance and performance. In business since 1989, the company’s patented filters eliminate the surge damage and equipment loss often experienced with sacrificial MOV (metal oxide varistor) type surge suppressors. Zero Surge Inc. has over 50 models accommodating a wide range of applications. Corporations, medical operations, universities, ocean vessels, the U.S. military and government, manufacturing plants, banks, utilities, and homeowners are just some of the customers relying on Zero Surge filters. The products do not contain sacrificial MOVs which wear out with use, can fail, and have caused fires.

Power Surges Can Damage Laboratory Equipment and Invalidate Results
Zero Surge offers 100% surge protection / 0% failure series mode filters.

Frenchtown, NJ (February 2006) – Laboratories worldwide, whether they be R&D, chemistry, or medical research or testing, all have one thing in common – expensive, sensitive equipment and instruments that need care and protection. Although the labs may differ in what they test and measure, they all contain intricate testing and measurement equipment that is vulnerable to the unpredictable power on which it relies. Understanding that extending the life and reliability of any electronic device or instrument starts at the plug, Zero Surge, the leading manufacturer of patented series mode surge removal filters, offers unparalleled powerline surge protection that can be effortlessly integrated into any laboratory setting.

Nothing less than 100% surge protection with 0% failure should be considered for important laboratory applications; for that, turn to Zero Surge. For over 16 years, Zero Surge’s patented products have been providing unequalled, unfailing powerline surge protection for a number of industries. For laboratories featuring servers and other interconnected computing devices as well as advanced test and measurement equipment, Zero Surge’s power quality filters are especially suitable, ranging from the economical 2R-Series, featuring two outlet units, to the more fully-featured 8R-Series, with eight outlets and a built-in circuit breaker to prevent overloading. Zero Surge offers 15 and 20 amp rack mount units for systems integration in rack mounted setups or 1U modular units if mounting is not required.

“Without protection from powerline surges, laboratory professionals are playing a game of chance with their equipment investment and the quality and credibility of the work and research conducted in their labs,” noted Rudy Harford, Chief Engineer of Zero Surge. “There are numerous options available for protecting equipment and data from power surges; however, the decision to leave such valuable and important aspects of any laboratory to an inferior solution could be a costly one,” concluded Mr. Harford.

Unlike the competition that shunts excess surge energy to the “ground” wire and utilizes tiny, inexpensive metal oxide varistors (MOVs) to divert surge current, Zero Surge’s power quality filters perform as a tranquilizer on the surge current and absorb even the most destructive strikes, dissipating them harmlessly over the neutral wire, repeatedly. In addition, Zero Surge’s non-MOV filters preserve ground wire integrity, which when used with servers and network systems, can help eliminate unwanted and annoying interference that can corrupt data. MOV-based surge suppressors have a history of overheating and causing fires. When hit with powerful surges, MOVs have been known to explode, and they deteriorate with use, completely losing their effectiveness with no outward sign of the degradation. Network Computing Equipment is Vulnerable to Ordinary Power Surges
Zero Surge offers 100% surge protection / 0% failure series mode filters.

Frenchtown, NJ (January 2006) – Let’s face it: catastrophic server failure can cripple a business. Incredibly, surveys show that most small businesses and home offices plug their network computing equipment into inexpensive surge protectors that can, and do, regularly fail, causing component damage and vital data loss. Understanding that extending the life of any electronic platform starts at the plug, Zero Surge, the leading manufacturer of patented series mode power quality filters, offers unparalleled powerline surge protection ideal for critical IT network, server or storage systems.

Business and mission-critical applications require nothing less than 100% surge protection with 0% failure; for that, turn to Zero Surge. For over 16 years, Zero Surge’s patented products have been providing unequalled, unfailing powerline surge protection. “All it takes is one power surge to put a small business or home office at risk,” noted Rudy Harford, Chief Engineer of Zero Surge. “Power surges happen more often than not and can range anywhere from a minimal ringwave to a 6,000 volt / 3,000 amp pulse, induced by a nearby lightning bolt. Power surges are out of sight, unpredictable, and often occur during off hours. Having inadequate surge protection is like playing Russian Roulette with your business’s greatest assets,” concluded Mr. Harford.

For just an incremental cost of your investment, Zero Surge’s series mode power quality filters will give you peace of mind, taking one more worry off the table for a small business. Several Zero Surge series mode power quality filters are especially suitable for servers and other interconnected computing devices, ranging from the economical 2R-Series, featuring two outlet units, to more the more fully-featured 8R-Series, with eight outlets and a built-in circuit breaker to prevent overloading. High-End Home Theater Systems Require High-End Surge Protection
Zero Surge offers 100% surge protection / 0% failure series mode filters.

Las Vegas, NV - CES 2006 (January 5, 2006) -- Today’s home theater components and installations can represent a significant investment. With costs averaging in the thousands of dollars – and some times reaching into the tens of thousands of dollars – consumers must look to maximize their entertainment experience by protecting their investment over the long run. Understanding that extending the life of any electronic platform starts at the plug, Zero Surge, the leading manufacturer of patented series mode power quality filters, offers unparalleled powerline surge protection ideal for any home theater system.

For costly high-end home theater systems, nothing less than 100% surge protection with 0% failure should be considered; for that, turn to Zero Surge. For over 16 years, Zero Surge’s patented products have been providing unequalled, unfailing powerline surge protection for important applications. For the home theater, several Zero Surge series mode power quality filters are especially suitable, including the 8R15WI which offers isolated receptacles for the mixing of digital and analog products, the 8R15W and 8R15W-TWR tower model. For use in conventional entertainment centers and racks, the 1RM15WI and 1RM20WI rack mount units and the 1MOD15WI and 1MOD20WI modular units are ideal and stack well among additional components of the home theater system (product sheets and specifications are attached).

“All it takes is one power surge to ruin the investment of home theater owners,” noted Rudy Harford, Chief Engineer and President of Zero Surge. “Power surges happen more often than not and can range anywhere from a minimal ringwave to a 6,000 volt / 3,000 amp pulse, induced by a nearby lightning bolt. As power surges are out of sight and unpredictable, many consumers are unaware of or are not in tune to the protection that is available for their consumer electronics. With Zero Surge’s 100% surge protection, peace of mind is assured from the moment you plug in. Additionally, with each series mode power quality filter comes the performance and reliability that has become synonymous with the Zero Surge name, as each model has been certified for safety, performance and endurance by Underwriters Laboratories® (UL),” concluded Mr. Harford.

Unlike the competition that shunts excess surge energy to the “ground” wire and utilizes tiny, inexpensive metal oxide varistors (MOVs) to divert surge current, Zero Surge’s patented series mode power quality filters perform as a tranquillizer on the surge current and absorb even the most destructive strikes and dissipate them harmlessly over time, repeatedly. In addition, Zero Surge filters don't contaminate the ground wire or use sacrificial components, which when used with home theater systems, can cause unwanted and annoying interference and noise.

MOV-based surge suppression systems can also be unsafe, as they have been linked to fires due to overheating. When hit with powerful surges, MOVs have been known to explode and burn, and with use, can deteriorate and completely lose their effectiveness with no outward sign of the degradation. Ensuring an added level of confidence, Zero Surge units don't wear out, and each one comes with a 10-year limited warranty and a Lifetime Service Agreement.

“Why play Russian Roulette with your expensive large screen televisions and home audio systems?” asks Harford. “For just an incremental cost of your investment, Zero Surge’s series mode power quality filters will give you peace of mind, and allow you to enjoy your home theater system for many years.”

New Surge Protector Designed for Serious Aquarists

FRENCHTOWN, NJ –July 2004 – Zero Surge Inc., the leading manufacturer of patented series mode surge removal filters, now offers a specially designed aquarium unit. Today’s serious aquarists are investing a lot of time and expense in their aquarium set-ups which can all be destroyed with a single power line surge. Surges have been known to cause irreparable damage to pumps and heaters resulting in loss of equipment and aquatic life. Damage occurs when equipment is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and worse yet, when inadequate surge protection is used. Most surge suppressors available today contain degradable, sacrificial components that fail and have caused fires in an aquatic environment.

Zero Surge saw the need for a surge suppressor that would perform in an aquarium’s moist, humid environment without posing a fire safety risk. In business for over 15 years, Zero Surge’s extensive product line has never experienced a fire or surge related failure. In answer to the call for a high quality surge suppressor, Zero Surge recently introduced its 8R15W-AQUA model. The product has 8 outlets, protective covers for unused outlets, 15 amp load capacity, and is non-corrosive. Zero Surge’s impeccable performance, endurance, and safety record assures the public that this is truly an innovative, one-of-a kind product – and it’s warranted to handle at least “10 years of the worst possible surges!”

BROWNOUT ALERT!

FRENCHTOWN, NJ – July 17, 2002 – Virtually all methods of surge protection lose their effectiveness when brownouts occur. Computers are especially susceptible to surge damage during brownout conditions as most of the powerline surge suppressors and UPSs connected to them use fixed clamping level MOVs. This clamping level must be set higher than the highest anticipated powerline voltage or thermal runaway (overheating) will occur due to the MOV conducting on the power wave peak voltage. This could also lead to catastrophic failure and fire.

During a brownout, no protection is afforded until the surge exceeds the MOV clamp level which is much higher than the power wave during the brownout. The result is that the computer’s power supply sees a much larger surge before any suppression takes place, greatly increasing surge exposure. Zero Surge has recognized and eliminated this problem by introducing a dynamic new technology. This breakthrough technology is called series mode with Spectrum WVR® (wide voltage range).

Unlike a fixed clamping level device, Spectrum WVR® features a dynamic clamp or instantaneous response to surge current and voltage. With brownouts occurring more frequently, don’t leave your important equipment exposed to danger -- plug in to Spectrum WVR® for assured protection. Breakthrough Surge Suppressor Offers Very Wide Voltage Range

FRENCHTOWN, NJ – January 29, 2002 – Zero Surge Inc., the series mode surge suppression leader has developed a revolutionary surge suppression technology -- Spectrum WVR®. This patent-pending technology operates EFFECTIVELY from 85-265V, dynamically stopping surge current as well as surge voltage. Spectrum WVR® is effective for most applications but is ideal where voltage variations exist, such as brown-out conditions and where stand-by generators are used. One unit with Zero Surge’s versatile Spectrum WVR® technology can be used for applications ranging from 85-265 volts including 120, 208 and 240V single phase.

Typical surge suppressors’ fixed clamping levels do not tolerate fluctuations in voltage. If the voltage goes too high, the clamp can cause distortion to audio, video or computer signals, and even go into thermal run-away, or simply fail. If the voltage is low, as in brown-out conditions, clamping effec-tiveness, thus surge protection, is degraded.

Detailed product information is on Zero Surge’s updated web site. The new site is easy to navigate and offers a wealth of educational and authoritative surge suppression information in addition to Spectrum WVR® product information.
